THE AMORALISTS are pleased to announce the world premiere production of AMERISSIAH, written and directed by Derek Ahonen. AMERISSIAH will play a four-week limited engagement at The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street (Corner of Bond and Lafayette). Performances begin Thursday, November 13 and continue through Sunday, December 7. Opening Night is Monday, November 17 (8 p.m.). Press are invited November 15, 16, 17.

Barry Ricewater, a terminally ill man convinced he is God, returns to the apartment of his childhood. His degenerate family descends on him to pay their last respects. They all think he is crazy until the gathering is interrupted by an unlikely disciple. Only through Barry's divine intervention can the crooked Ricewater clan be saved.

There once was a young girl named Beauty who didn't seem to fit in. Her nose was always stuck in a book and unlike her sisters; she wasn't looking for a Prince Charming to rescue her. What she wanted was adventure and that's just what she found. In order to settle her father's debt, she goes to live in a magical castle with a mysterious beast. What she discovers is her true self, friendship and the meaning of love.

This adaptation, based on the original book by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont, is filled with charming musical numbers, delightful dancing, endearing and amusing characters, wonder and magic.

In addition to the one hour and 15-minute musical, the audience receives a special treat - interactive arts workshops prior to the performance. Here the audience learns about the original book and how we turned it into a musical. We discuss the themes of the show and how the arts bring literature to life. Then the kids and their families make Beauty and Beast masks which they take home as a souvenir. Now when they watch the show, they are familiar with the art forms represented in the production.

The whole program (pre-show workshop and actual show) is approximately two hours long.

SHARON CARR ASSOCIATES, LTD is pleased to announce the return engagement of GLIMPSES OF THE MOON, a Jazz Age musical with book & lyrics by Tajlei Levis and music by John Mercurio, directed by Marc Bruni. GLIMPSES OF THE MOON is back by popular demand for an ongoing run at Off-Broadway's Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th Ave.). Performances begin Monday, October 20. Press night is Monday, November 3 at 8 pm.

Hailed by critics and audiences in January 2008, GLIMPSES OF THE MOON is the first original musical created specifically for the intimate wood-paneled Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel. Set in 1922, GLIMPSES OF THE MOON follows the jazzy whirl of Manhattan society, from champagne-soaked dinner parties, to luxurious vacation cottages and back to New York's elegant hotels.

A charming romantic musical, based on one of Edith Wharton's rare comedies, GLIMPSES OF THE MOON is not without its share of heartaches. Popular but penniless, Susy Branch and her friend Nick Lansing devise a clever scheme: to marry and live off the wedding presents, while they help one another find suitable millionaires. The plan works perfectly-- until they fall in love.

GLIMPSES OF THE MOON stars Autumn Hurlbert (Legally Blonde) as Susy, and Chris Peluso (Lestat) as Nick, also starring is Jane Blass (Hairspray Nat'l Tour) as Ellie, Laura Jordan (Cry Baby and In My Life) as Coral, Daren Kelly (Crazy for You, Woman of the Year, Deathtrap, South Pacific) as Nelson and Glenn Peters as Streffy. The production features Lighting Design by Richard Winkler (Original A Chorus Line and 25th anniversary national tour of Evita), Costume Design by Lisa Zinni (Associate Costume Designer: Rent), Choreography by Denis Jones (Associate Choreographer: Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Scenic Consulting by Ted LeFevre (Broadway Associate: The Country Girl, Rock 'n' Roll, Grease, Coram Boy, Sweeney Todd). General Management is by Brierpatch Productions - Laura Janik Cronin/Scott Newsome, casting is by Geoff Josselson and the Stage Manager is Carlos Maisonet.
